We have a long standing appointment as Inspecting Architects at St Johns, which is the oldest parish church in the City. The building contract to repair the roof started in May 2004 and ran consecutively with a contract to repair and reorder the interior.
The major works included structural repairs to the roof frame, wall stabilization, retiling and unusually for a church, installing roof insulation. Areas of new stone flooring were laid with under-floor heating. The vestry was extended and refurbished and the medieval north door was reopened to create a new entrance to achieve equality of access.
Within the reordering programme a bespoke oak kitchenette was installed to provide tea and coffee making facilities.
