We produced a Master Plan for Little Wittenham Nature Reserve in Oxfordshire for the Northmoor Trust. Planning consent was obtained for the conversion of Victorian farm buildings into the Trust's offices, and visitor centre. The new build Visitor Centre illustrated was designed but not built.
From the outset of the project environmental considerations were an important consideration for the Trust. Design proposals included extensive use of environmentally friendly construction materials and techniques, including a heating system fuelled by hay. Solar panels for heating hot water, a sewage treatment facility, a reed bed and a wind turbine to produce electricity were incorporated.
